RailPro Control System

I chose the RailPro radio system to control my Climax and Shay locomotives. This system has hand control units that communicate directly with "loco modules" installed in the engines, and seems to have some advantages over DCC, which I used on my former HO scale model railroad.

I have installed loco modules in both engines, and will share the knowledge I've gained on these Web pages.

Shay loco module installation

This photo shows the RailPro loco module installed in the fuel bunker on the Shay. I documented this installation, and you can read that document here. Click to open the document in your PDF reader, where you can read it now. Or right-click, then click Save As to save the file directly to your hard drive.

Climax loco module installation

Here's a photo of the loco module installed in the fuel bunker on the Climax. I documented this installation, and you can read that document here.
